The “dread community” is a term that refers to a subset of individuals who use the Darknet market platform known as “Dread.” Dread is a forum-style platform that operates on the Tor network and is often used for discussing and purchasing illegal goods and services, including drugs, weapons, and counterfeit documents.
The community that uses Dread is often associated with the broader dark web community, which is known for its anonymity, secrecy, and illicit activities. However, it’s worth noting that not everyone who uses Dread or other dark web marketplaces is engaged in illegal activity, and there are also legitimate uses for the dark web, such as providing a means for individuals to communicate anonymously in countries with strict censorship laws.
Today (February 25th) after months for beeing down without updates from Hugbunter (AKA Hugbunter) Hug informed the community that there is still issues with launching the platform again.

I did say the next post would be the re-launch, however now
that we are up and running on the production server and
still fine tuning configurations, we absolutely must run
private testing in multiple stages over the next few days.
This is not only to establish remaining bugs in the minor
new features, but to gauge the stability on the cluster.
This will allow us to adjust accordingly.
Right now, we have invited multiple hidden service admins
to test and will next be moving onto advertisers and
individual subdread Moderators, so they can pre-set their
subdread’s with any updates or relevant new posts, clean
out any untouched spam from before shut down and so on.
All Ads have been extended by 3 months as of the time of
writing, will be further extended if the launch surpasses
the actual 3 month downtime mark.
We’re looking to get through this testing quickly. If you
fall into any of the mentioned categories, feel free to
get in touch with me here or Jabber.
If you are going to contact me on Reddit, I hope it goes
without saying, but use a throwaway rather than linking
your alias’ together.
